About Toothbrush Holders

When you decorate your bathroom, one of the last things you may think about would be to get toothbrush holders. This is because they are often unsightly, and many think they are not something that is very necessary. The truth is that they may be more important than many think, and you can find some that go with what you are doing with your bathroom. You can find some that work well hidden as well, and you can also find good reasons why everyone should use them in your house.

One thing about bathrooms is that water goes everywhere, and it goes further than you may think it does. This includes the water coming from and out of your toilet. You may have the lid down, but that does not mean anything. All types of bacteria from your toilet can go out into your room and land on things like your tooth brush. If you have them open and too close to the toilet, you could be putting unspeakable things into your mouth. That is when getting closed toothbrush holders might just seem like the best idea you have had in a long time.

If you already have toothbrush holders, think about what they look like, how they function, and where they are hanging in your bathroom. They should be far away from your toilet, and should be hanging where they can be easily reached. Many toothbrush holders are the open type so that the brushes can dry quickly, but those are not always the best choices in toothbrush holders if you have a very small bathroom. Remember, those germs can jump further through water spray than you may think. If possible, you may want to hang your holder for toothbrushes in your medicine cabinet so they can dry, but stay safe from water spray.

If nothing else, find a way to keep your brushes clean and dry, and out of view all together. That might mean getting individual toothbrush holders that have a few holes near where the bristles might sit. This allows them to dry, but also keeps them safe. This may be a small detail when thinking about your home and keeping your family healthy, but you do have to think about it. Keeping them clean is just as important as remembering to replace them as recommended. The small things add up to a cleaner home and a healthier family in the long run.
