They may or they may not. If not, you can look around online, but remember that not all are moderated, and not all of them are safe. There are some people that go into them with scams in mind, and pretend to be a potential date just to get someone sucked in. Look for larger chat sites with good reputations before you jump in. At the very least, lurk for a bit to see what is going on before you speak up with anyone.

This might actually be a good idea for you, as you can trust what goes on there a bit more than just some random chat for singles you can find anywhere else online. The fee may pay for bandwidth associated with running the site, but it may also pay for moderation and screening so that those included behave and are really there for dating just like you are. Still use caution, however, but dont forget to have fun as well.
